"Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed"....possibly the most irritating line ever spoken in a film {Andie McDowell, Four Weddings & A Funeral, clip here}. The one thing you can guarantee, is that if it rains on your wedding day, you will definitely notice! So the secret is to presume it will rain. That way, you're prepared for the worst, and won't be disappointed when the inevitable shower starts to fall. We took the risk at our French wedding, and planned our reception dinner on the outside terrace, but we had a back-up plan, just in case. I also bought pashminas as wedding favours, to ward off any evening chill. With the right kit, even a cold or rainy wedding day can prove picturesque. Serve hot chocolate by a bonfire, keep your guests warm with cosy cashmere blankets, and hand out wellington boots and these amazing brollies from Love Umbrellas as wedding favours.
