This dreamy destination wedding has got me wanting to get married all over again! Nuria and Jordi chose a love and music theme for their big day, and designed many of their wedding details around this central idea. Their wedding stationery was made out of origami paper, and came with directions on how to fold it into a piano - such an original idea! The other wedding theme centred around their wedding venue - their boutique hotel, La Garriga de Castelladral, near Barcelona in Spain. I've fallen for all their wedding details, from the stunning balloon release, to the bubble confetti and the exciting children's sweetie table - it's like a scene from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. So many stunning details - huge thanks to Abreras & Ruso for capturing every detail!
We got married on the 7th of July 2012 at La Garriga de Castelladr, a magical boutique hotel in the middle of nature, one hour from Barcelona in Spain.
Our wedding photographers were Abreras & Ruso. They are a team of two, and they're very professional and skilled. We chose them because their work is very natural and spontaneous.
We wanted to get married in the middle of nature… in a forest, surrounded by trees {we really love nature}. We thought the decoration should be very natural and fresh, with clear colours like white or purple.
Moreover, La Garriga de Castelladral, our wedding venue, used to be a medieval house dedicated to wine production, and wine history is all around the house. The growing of grapes and making of wine is close to our heart, so it was important our wedding reflected that as well.
I loved planning my wedding! My advice to other brides-to-be would be to enjoy all the preparation as much as you can {it's the best time}, because the actual wedding day passes so fast.
Our florist was Cristina from La Flor - a very small florist store in Manresa village, with incredibly beautiful flowers and shabby-chic accessories {see a picture here}. She has great taste in rustic decoration, and is amazing at designing countryside wedding flowers.
We had quite a few DIY wedding projects. We made our own wedding stationer, and decorated the dancing terrace with star-shaped lights. Also, we created the children's table, which was decorated with all sorts of sweeties and lollipops.
For our wedding cake, we knew we wanted something very simple, but also elegant and romantic. I love simple white wedding cakes, so it was all covered with white fondant. We added a fun cake-topper to complete the picture.
